A Taiwanese woman suffering from an earache went to the hospital only to discover she had a maggot living her ear canal, according to a report by the New England Journal of Medicine.
The 48-year-old complained to doctors at Taipei’s Tri-Service General Hospital of a severe earache.
The doctors proceeded to remove the hearing aid to inspect her ear canal, only to discover a squirming fruit fly larva nesting inside.
